- Blue Mist Spirea (Caryopteris) - This shrub produces unique blue tufts of flowers in the late summer and grows 3-4’ tall and 2-3’ wide. Graceful branching and the dried fuzzy blooms make this a beautiful winter specimen.

- Butterfly Bush – Butterfly Bush provide long lasting late color and like its name suggests attracts butterflies and humming birds into your yard. Flower colors vary from white, to pink, purple, magenta, and tricolor. Depending on variety, sizes range from 3-8’ tall and similar width in a very natural, unique arching habit. Most bushes die back almost to the ground in winter. Prune heavily in spring to remove last year’s growth.

- Potentilla - A Colorado native this drought tolerant shrub blooms all summer long with white, red, coral, or pink blooms. A general pruning in early spring helps keep the shrub tight and uniform.

- Russian Sage – A Colorado favorite seen in many medians Russian Sage produces prolific lavender flowers lasting late into the season. Grows 4-6’ tall and similar width.

- Golden Currant – A fragrant, narrow growing shrub to 6-8’ tall produces yellow flowers in Spring and edible fruit attracting wildlife. Does well in very sunny areas.

- Siberian Pea Shrub – A very hardy and durable plant with bright yellow spring flowers and fernlike leaves. Standard species can grow very large to 12-15’ but many smaller varieties are available too. Flowers resemble a sweet pea.

- Sand Cherry – A Colorado native, this hardy shrub provides a very early show of pink flowers in the spring. Varieties can vary from low and creeping to tall bushes 8’ in height.
